Car maintenance

Short time car care considerations.
Here's a quick list for maintaining your car

Weekly checking on the hood includes checking oil levels, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid.

Washing your car weekly keeps you car looking good and protects the finish.  Hand washing is best, but any washing helps eliminate environmental pollution, fallout from birds, road salts, and tree sap, all of which can cause damage to the car finish if allowed long exposures and baking own in the sun. Washing is a part of
car care.

Waxing your car every three months not only makes a great and also protects the finish, some of the synthetic waxes can last a to a year.  Always start with a clean car, and make sure you have a glass like service.  There are many non-abrasive cleaners that can help achieve a smooth surface, and clay products that deliver amazing results.  Use a high quality wax being sure to remove all residues including wax around the trim in the body seams using a detail brush, old toothbrush, or Q-tips.  Washing or rinsing, and then drying the car and right after waxing really accentuates the shine.

Check your tires every time you fill up your car for proper inflation and even wear to assure proper
car care.  Uneven wear can indicate a need for alignment.

Schedule car maintenance of things that should be done on a schedule it or by time or mileage.

Oil changes should be done by manufacturer recommendations for frequency.  Mileage may vary from 3000 miles to 15,000 miles depending on the top of oil that you use.  Some of the synthetic oils on the market have a longer life therefore protecting your engine better.  Always change your oil filter when you change your oil.  Always have your air filter visually checked when your oil is changed.

Changing the coolant in your car is necessary because the coolant wears out, but because the anticorrosive and antirust components of the coolant do get used up.  Coolant should be changed about every two years.

Hoses and belts should be checked yearly and should be changed about every three years.  Changing hoses and belts every three years keeps you from having unexpected downtime.

Car care of tires should be rotated yearly according to the specifications of the tire manufacturer.

Your owner's Manual is a best reference for periodic maintenance.  The Manual will include quite a few more periodic items that are not mentioned here.  The Manual will also tell you about special circumstances that can change your maintenance schedule such as if you carry large loads, or tow something.

Good
car care helps protect your investment and assures that you transportation will be dependable.
