DVD movies have become such a standard that it is hard if not imposible to find VHS. VHS video are being moved out of video stores to make room for a new format or formats. Until then DVD will be the only popular video that carries all titles.
Should I buy DVD, or wait for new videos? DVD videos will work on the new players that come ot so there will be a long useful life for the DVDs that are bought today. DVD videos hold more information than can be shown on NTSC standard television sets, so if you buy DVDs and have an HD television, you will see a better image than in you have standard format TV.
New movies come out all the time and staying up with them is difficult. The Quality of movies seems to vary greatly, but with the larger quantity of movies, there are more great movies. Entertainment in the form of DVD movies makes personal viewing easier and the extras that come with the videos is often as entertaining as the movie itself. I personally like the interviews that include directors and stars.
A big new type of DVDs is the television DVDs to be able to watch an entire season of your favorite television series in one sitting, or in one weekend. Group and family ventures in watching these shows brings a new entertainment vaue to the TV show, and thet are also extras from writers, directors, producers, and actors. Watching the television shows without commercials is great.
DVDs can be played on almost any modern computer, and that adds another feature that DVDs have over other formats, and many DVDs have content that can only be seen with use of a computer. The extra video information can also be taken advantage of if you view the DVD on a high def monitor even if you don't have HDTV.
Continue to feel good about buying DVD videos because the format is still very popular,and DVDs will be playable for many years.
