How to lose weight the right way. The real way to fitness.

Recently I decided that I would lose weight. I needed to take off 40 to 50 pounds, so I did lots of reading to find out the best way to weight lose and fitness.

There are 2 ways to reduce weight. Eat less calories than you burn, or burn more calories than you eat.

The fast way to lose weight is to combine both. (By the way I lost 40 pounds in 10 weeks, and it was pretty easy).

Eat less calories is really easy by eliminating dairy, and soft drinks and sweet drinks. Reduce or eliminate alcohol, and reduce or eliminate bread.   The reasoning is easy. Dairy has fat, which doesn’t make you necessarily gain weight, but it does cause cholesterol to increase, and that’s not healthy. Many dairy products have salt and that can make you retain water. Alcohol, soft drinks and bread all have carbohydrates, those are sugars that convert to fat, and this is where the real weight is put on. No need to be on a big diet, just change the items you eat and you will take in less calories. More skinless chicken or fish, and less meat. Stay away from burger meat because of all the fat and there is usually loads of salt.

Now how to burn calories.   A quick question. How much weight would you lose if you walked 25 miles?     The answer is between 15 and 20 pounds. However walking that much in one day would take 10 to 12 hours and most people that need to lose that much weight are not in shape to do that much walking.  Here’s the easy solution, and the way you have to do this walking.  One mile a day 6 days a week, but you need to walk at least 3 miles an hour. You need that speed to bring for a  cardio fitness workout.   Measure out a mile circuit and walk it in 20 minutes. Hey you get one day a week off. After a few weeks you can increase the distance at little and do that much more good. By the end of the month you have walked your 25 miles (or more) and if you don’t increase your food intake you will lose 2 to 3 pounds weekly. This is easy to do with a treadmill, and you can walk in inclement weather, and at night.

If you walk and change your diet you can easily take off 5 pounds a week.
The reason walking works so well. The muscles in your legs are the biggest in your body, and therefore burn the most calories and aid in overall fitness.

People write whole books on weight loss, I have given you the real truth as to what all those fad methods come down to. Eat less calories than you burn, or burn more calories than you eat. It’s that simple.

The caveat: You can continue with this and you will hit a weight that will be a stable weight and range of fitness. The calories you are burning depends on the weight you are carrying, and you will end up healthier and stronger.

This is not a short cut to fitness. It takes dedication and perseverance, but is doable by just about anyone, and walking is the fitness activity most recommended by doctors
