Small appliances are what make the modern kitchen work.  What would we do about our coffee makers, toasters, blenders, and any of our other favorite small appliances like portable grills, stand mixers, food processors, or can openers?  Few can remember when a hand mixer at a crank on it, or coffee pots that brewed coffee on top of the kitchen stove (showing my age).  In the 1960s, the small appliance craze started up, and was see new items come on the market all the time.  We even have small appliances that are a big rare, and several years later you can even find that appliance.  There was a question asked on a popular radio show about an appliance that was in over 90% of American households in 10 years later the appliance hardly existed.  Many people will remember the hot air popcorn Popper.

Small appliances make many things possible today they were very difficult in the past.  Tabletop ice cream makers, tabletop grills the draw the grease away from the food, and bread machines that make homemade bread convenient daily, food processors that make cooking a breeze, and a number of convenient items that personalize the kitchen for what we like to do and how we like to cook.  Waffle makers, espresso machines, deep fryers, toaster ovens, hand blenders, rice cookers, juicers, and toaster ovens are just some of the small appliances available today.

Some new small appliances (some not exactly new but gaining in popularity) chocolate fondue fountains, portable steam machines, frozen drink machines (Margarita makers), electric pressure cookers, vacuum food sealers, are selling well because they make your life easier or bring novelty or offer convenience is that we've never had available.
