Skin care, hair care, make-up, fragrances
Beauty is a unique grace and confidence, a light that sparkles through the eyes and smile. It's what you project.
Beauty is subjective quality and perfect beauty is an abstract concept.
We want to be beautiful and make the best of ourselves. We want to look beautiful without losing the essence of what makes us unique.
There is software out there that can take your photo, add some, cut away some, make stretches, adjust colors, and then WOW! Your image is picture perfect.
Anyone can look photogenic with a few tweaks on photo editing software.
Because pictures can last a lifetime, can create lasting impressions, and can make or break careers, a lot of people go through means to make sure that they look good when they face the camera, and that the resulting snapshot is to their liking. Retouching is often the way to go.
But what is not commonly known is that anyone can look smashingly gorgeous on a photograph without subjecting it to any photo-editing technique.
How to becoming picture perfect?
Read on and learn
Your Makeup.
A shiny face due to the skin’s oil secretions does not look nice and says a lot about your neatness. It reflects the light in a photo. Minimize the shine, avoiding makeups that shimmer or have a shiny texture on the face. Use a matte finish foundation as base for your makeup and dab face powder on your skin to set the makeup and minimize the shine. Keep your colors not too bright or vivid, because they will look jarring on the photograph. Medium-color eye shadow works . To keep everything neat on your face, use long-lasting, waterproof and smudge-proof cosmetics. Put lip balm or lip cream on before applying your lipstick, and opt for a cream-formula lipstick with a medium shade.
Your Hair.
The basic thing to achieve picture-perfect hair make sure it is clean before appearing for a photo shoot. If you are going to have it styled, make sure that the hairstyle complements your face, and avoid bad hairstyles that will make your head seem wider or smaller than it actually is. Avoid pulling your hair back too much as well unless you wish to appear older on the photograph. Go for the natural look and try not to use styling products that will make your hair stand stiff. If your hair is dyed or highlighted and you retouch it before your photo shoot, choose a color that looks nice against your complexion.
Your Clothes.
The outfit that you ought to wear for your photo should complement your figure. Choose a number that enhances your figure, with a neckline that complements your face. Wear colors that fit you, and completely avoid patterns that are too bold, too bright or too large. These patterns are the ones that will float on the photograph, rather than your face and person. Never wear white for a photo shoot unless you are a bride on your wedding day, because white will make you look larger and will draw attention from your face. Also, do not be afraid to accessorize. A bit of jewelry and trinkets will lend style and elegance to your photograph.
Your Smile.
Pearly white teeth are much desired when smiling for the camera. Use teeth whitener or see your dentist for this. When you smile for the camera, smile as if you are in love. Think of the person that you love before the camera clicks. If you do not have someone right now, think of something funny. Your smile and your eyes will glow in a lovely way on the photograph.
A picture paints a thousand words and a face can launch a thousand ships. Make yourself picture-perfect. It is not so hard to do and you will love the results.
Eye Shadow
Many people use eye shadow to improve their appearance, but it is also used in theater and other plays, to create a memorable look, with bright and even ridiculous colors. Applying eye shadow has plagued many a person, but with a little care, the end result is worth the effort. Never apply eyeliner or use mascara before applying eye shadow or the concealer for the total effect is ruined. A wonderful eye shadow tip for women who want to make their eyes appear closer is to emphasize the inner corners of the eyes.
Eye shadow is perhaps the most beloved cosmetic of makeup artists. Some women prefer to apply eye shadow with a damp brush or applicator. This helps in intensifying the color. Powder eye shadows come in singles or color coordinated sets. Cream eye shadows can be coordinated with powder eye shadows. Eye shadow adds depth and dimension to one's eyes, compliments the eye color, or simply draw attention to the eyes. The effect of eyeshadow usually brings out glamor and attention to eyes.
Tips for applying eye shadow
1. Apply the medium shade on the upper eyelid only. Use a lighter shade under the brow bone to highlight the eyes.
2. When you want to apply light shades such as blue, beige, light green and light gray then you should first draw a thin line with the help of liquid eyeliner.
3. Pearly shades are great for highlighting the brow bone and opening up the eye area.
4. Use brushes to apply eye shadow. Avoid those nasty foam applicators that come with it.
5. Apply a lighter eye shadow color above your primary color and below your eyebrow.
Types of Eye Shadows
Dark - This is applied only to the eyelids from the lash line to the crease in the eyelid.
Medium - This is applied from just below the eyelid crease to the brow bone. You can shade the entire lid with this medium shade first.
Highlight - This is the lightest of the three and is applied to the brow bone and extends a little past the outer end of the eyebrow. This gives a pearly finish.
Lipstick
Lipstick is a quick and easy ways to transform your appearance. Lips and eyes are an important focal points of your face so one must pay special attention to these areas while doing makeup. It helps keep your color looking balanced and accentuates your smile and friendly face. Applying lipstick with moisturizers and sun protection is one effective way to protect the lips from weather changes. Applying lipstick after drawing a crisp lip outline is an important key in the finishing touch that keeps the color from bleeding.
How To Apply lipstick
1. Prime your lips with a good base of foundation and powder to remove all color from your lips.
2. Carry your lipstick with you in case of accidental removal or just quick touch-ups.
3. Apply your lipstick as normal, with or without lip liner.
4. Continue the line of the upper lip, keeping your mouth closed and relaxed. Use short strokes, they are easier than a continuous line.
5. Connect the lines drawn at the top and bottom center of your lips with the lines drawn at the corners of your mouth.
6. Blot your lips gently on a tissue, be careful not to smudge or remove too much color. Then brush on a second coat of lip color for a deeper effect.
7. To hide lip lines, apply lipstick vertically.
Shaping up Your Lips
Knowing the shape of lips, you can correct your lip shape and can make you look attractive.
Thick lips - This type of lip appear smaller if you draw the outline just within the natural shape. You must use medium toned lip color and avoid dark brows, plums and pale shimmer shades .
Thin lips - They can be easily corrected by taking the pencil outside the natural lip line. Work it slowly and steadily to get the perfect shape. Fill in with the lipstick. A highlight of frosting on the upper lip would create an impression of fullness .
Shapeless lips - Try to make the most flattering shape by stressing the center of the lips and then fill.
The general rule is to use one color during the day for a professional look and 2 or three colors during the evening to acquire that party look. Start from the inner side while applying eye shadow and gradually move towards the outer end taking care to see that the movement is in a straight direction. Using the brush, push back the color so that there is a blended effect. To give the make up an appearance of continuity, Blend those colors using a brush and you have a unique combination of eye shadow.
Applying Makeup Tips
1. Wash off your make-up before retiring to bed. The particles clog the skin-pores, and prevent the skin from inhaling fresh air. Go easy on foundation.
2. For oily skin, a cake foundation is good. Avoid use of foundation with lanolin base. You can use a vanishing cream as foundation.
3. For a double-chin, apply dark shade foundation underneath, it will appear balanced. Make your chin prominent by using light shade foundation.
4. Take into account the color of the hair when applying lipstick. Orange shade lipstick will match black hair. For gray hair use pink color lipstick and for golden brown hair use red shades.
How to apply Makeup Powder? Applying Makeup Powder
1. Release powder into the top section of the container, tipping the container and gently tapping the bottom.
2. Apply small ammounts of powder at a time. Better to blot oil later in the day than have a cakey, overdone look to your face.
3. Dust your face with powder. Stroke your face gently to cover all areas evenly.
4. Dip the brush in the powder and tap it to shake off loose powder, then brush the powder evenly over your face in downward strokes.
5. Take a large fluffy brush or a powder puff and dip it into the powder. Tap the tool lightly over the container to remove any excess.
Eyebrows
Eyebrows are one of the most under appreciated features of a person's face, but eyebrows are a perhaps a person's most defining feature. Change the shape of your eyebrow with a little plucking, and you can change the personality and mood of your face.
Eyebrow shaping is no simple task. Pluck too much and you end up with a perpetual look of surprise or worse, like you have no eyebrows at all. Here are a few tips to make sure your eyebrows come out the perfect shape.
1. Never pluck above the eyebrow. Bleach unruly upper hairs instead.
2. Brush the brows upward before plucking so that you have a clear idea of the lower eyebrow line.
3. Pluck eyebrow hairs in the direction that the hair grows. This way is less painful and the hairs will regrow flat.
4. Tweeze one hair at a time, starting at the inside (near the nose) and working your way out.
5. Take one row of hairs off at a time and examine the eyebrows before deciding if another row needs to come off.
Follow these few simple tips for the eyebrows that will make you stand out.
Concealers
Concealers come in shades to match any skin tone. They lessen the presence of pimples, marks and dark circles under the eyes. Concealers may be liquid, cream or solid (stick). Moisturize your face first for easier application. To keep concealer from setting into fine lines, wipe away excess. Blot with a tissue for matte finish.
Light skin or dark, your concealer should also have yellow tones. Don't use a concealer that's white or more than half a shade lighter than your skin tone. Try for an exact match. Apply before foundation. Set the concealer with powder.
TIP:
Sometimes after the use of concealer, foundation may be avoided.
USE OF UNDER-EYE CONCEALERS
Concealers are applied to cover dark circles around the eyes, greatly enhancing the appearance of the face. They are matched to the skin tone and are applied before using the foundation. When any product is applied around the eyes, take care to not strecth the skin.
Concealer should be dabbed on the skin and then gently blended with the finger tips moving from the outside corner to the inside corner. This procedure will not pull the skin. After the product has dried, more can be applied to build up the desired opacity. To remove, use a cosmetic cleanser, instead of vigorously rubbing the skin with soap and water.
Apply small dots of concealer at a time.
Touch the concealer directly onto the blemish and blend well at the edges. Don't apply more than two layers of concealer at a time, or it will look obvious that you're trying to hide a blazing zit. Foundation should further hide the blemish.
Concealers Applying Tips
1. Using the right makeup techniques is important. Concealers are denser than regular foundations and are available in sticks, tubes, pots, and creams. Concealers cover blemishes, dark spots, ruddy areas, marks, veins, freckles or under eye circles.
2. Concealer should be one shade lighter than your foundation (and only in extreme cases should you use a concealer two shades lighter).
3. Using a concealer that is too light or too pink will empasize the dark area instead of concealing it.
4. Apply concealer with a small fine tipped brush for an accurate application. Blending is the key.
5. Set your concealer with a sheer, translucent powder to prevent creasing.
TIP FOR APPLYING CONCEALERS
Cover the inside of the nose bridge and the outer corner of your eye where we tend to get dark areas.
Mascara
Applying Mascara is the final step in eye makeup. Mascara is applied on the eye lashes to beautify them. Different formulas and application of mascara can enhance your lashes in different ways. Mascara can often be to apply. Different colors of mascara such as brown, navy and green can make you look bizarre instantly. Before applying mascara, use an eyelash comb or damp toothbrush to comb your lashes. Use a clean and fresh mascara wand on damp lashes. If you have a steady hand and you are trying not to get to close to the root of the lashes this should be no problem.
Mascara without added fibers is normally sufficient, applied correctly to make eye lashes look long and lustrous. There are three different forms of mascara - water-based, water-proof and the mixed variety. It is important that mascara is used on an individual to avoid transferring eye infections and if it causes even the slightest irritation in the eye, it must be immediately discarded. While removing the mascara from eyes always avoid the color from going onto the delicate area below the bottom lashes and close your eyes.
Tips for applying eye mascara
1. Apply mascara after eye shadow and eyeliner.
2. If your mascara is new and the deposit on the corners is plentiful, clean off the wand before applying to prevent smudging
3. Never curl your eyelashes after applying mascara because they can stick to the pad on curler.
4. Try not to blink your eyes until it dries. To remove the excess mascara blot the lashes with a tissue.
5. Finally brush with a clean dry brush, to separate the lashes.
6. Always remove mascara before going to bed. This will keep lashes healthier.
Colored Mascara
If you are bold enough, try putting on blue or brown mascara on your lashes after applying a coat of black mascara, for a stunning look.
Tip to Remove Mascara
Mascara must be removed very carefully to avoid damaging the delicate skin around the eyes. Roll a cotton bud dipped in cosmetic cleaner over the lashes, taking mascara down on the tissues. Repeat this until all mascara removes.
